Billing
Managed Mailsnail accounts run on a prepaid balance.
Your balance lives with your agent, not here
This page can't show your balance or your recent mail — there is no login on this site. Your account is identified by the token your agent holds, so ask your agent instead: it can read your balance and open the Stripe billing portal for you on request.
Why a balance instead of per-letter charges
Card processing costs a fixed fee per charge on top of the percentage. On a $1.50 letter that fixed fee would be a fifth of the price. Funding a balance once and drawing mail against it means one fixed fee instead of one per piece, which is why cheap mail stays cheap.
Auto-reload
When your balance falls below your threshold, we charge your saved card for your top-up amount so an agent doesn't stall mid-task. You agreed to this when you saved the card, and you can change the amounts or switch it off at any time in the billing portal.
The billing portal
Updating your card, downloading receipts, and turning off auto-reload all happen in Stripe's hosted portal — ask your agent to open it, or call POST /v1/billing/portal. We never see or store your card number.
Refunds
Unspent balance is refundable to the original card. Mail that has already been handed to the printer can't be recalled. Email hello@mailsnail.dev and we'll sort it out.
Not using a managed account?
If you run Mailsnail with your own Click2Mail or Lob credentials, none of this applies — you are billed by that provider directly. See setup.
